Kate's Voice is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 school year. Please go to our Grants page for information on how to apply.
- Thanks to our supporters, our Spring 2010 Fundraiser was a huge success. We raised and netted over $50,000! This funding will help Kate's Voice provide music therapy grants to children, teens and young adults with moderate to severe special needs across Massachusetts. Thank you to all of you who joined us the night of April 10th and to those of you who donated to our fundraiser. We had a great time listening to live music with Annie Herlihy and Dave Hyer. We hope to make the song Dave wrote about Kate's Voice available for purchase at some point. What a beautiful song with so many meanings...the words and music were inspiring. To all of you who helped us in every way, THANK YOU for giving your time and donations and talents to Kate's Voice.
- Special thanks to 10-year old Isabel Ross who helped raise money through her Handful of Hearts charity. Isabel made friendship bracelets and sold them to raise money for Kate's Voice. Thanks Izzy!
- Listen to a taped podcast about Music Therapy and Children with Special Needs (from April 27, 2010) featuring Kate's Voice founder Laura Rutherford and Music Therapist Meredith Pizzi. This podcast was recorded for Family Caregivers Unite! with Dr. Gordon Atherley on Voice America's Variety Channel.
- Kate’s Voice gave out 14 grants to Massachusetts classrooms for this 2009-2010 school year (to date, this makes 50 grants in total!). Thanks to all teachers and therapists who bring music therapy into the lives of children with special needs. For a list of the towns and schools who received grants, please refer to our Grants Page.
